Third Year Mathematics

 

Our math materials are especially designed to aid the child in the development of the mathematical mind. They are materialized abstractions. Every non-essential or decorative factor has been removed, leaving only the materialization of the process or concept they are meant to convey. The movement in math is always from the concrete to the abstract.

 

 

The math materials are beautiful, elegant representations of numeration (number recognition), linear counting, decimal system introduction, preparation for addition, multiplication, subtraction and division, operations of the 4 processes and the passage to abstraction. Through repetitions of the activities, the children develop ever increasing understanding and move forward through the progression.
